Meet the Team

Christina Ritchmond

  • Christina created Scoliosis Wellness to provide knowledge and care that wasn’t offered to her as a child. Christina has been on a lifelong journey with scoliosis. Diagnosed at the age of 8, she wore a Boston brace at age 9 and underwent spinal fusion surgery at age 13. Despite the challenges posed by her condition, Christina remained determined to find ways to manage her scoliosis and improve her quality of life.

In 2008, Christina graduated from the 1000-hour massage therapy program at Brian Utting School of Massage. She discovered the powerful healing benefits of massage therapy and how it can be used to alleviate pain, reduce tension, and improve mobility in individuals with scoliosis.

In 2018, Christina became a certified 200-hour yoga teacher at Parallel University, where she learned how to use yoga as a tool to manage scoliosis. She found that yoga can help improve posture, strengthen the core, increase flexibility, and promote relaxation, all of which are essential for managing scoliosis.

In 2019, Christina opened her own business after receiving numerous requests from the community for her services. After listening to her clients and understanding their unique needs, she decided to focus her practice on scoliosis-specific wellness. She started offering a range of services that address the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of individuals with scoliosis, including yoga, massage therapy, pilates, and more.

In 2022, Christina became a certified scolio-pilates practitioner, adding another dimension to her practice. She found that pilates can help improve core strength, balance, and alignment, all of which are crucial for individuals with scoliosis.

Today, Christina's business, Scoliosis Wellness, is dedicated to helping individuals with scoliosis achieve optimal health and well-being. She continues to listen to her clients and evolve her practice to meet their unique needs. Her passion, skill, and dedication have helped countless individuals manage their scoliosis and improve their quality of life.

Owner / Bodyworker / Instructor

  • Hello, my name is Erin. After having my son, I found that my body was not the same. I struggled with back pain and tightness, and felt unbalanced. That’s when I decided to try yoga. After a few classes my pain started to subside, I felt stronger and more balanced. You could say it was life changing.

Curious to try different styles I stumbled upon Aerial Yoga at Simply Yoga. After one class I was hooked and Aerial Yoga became part of my practice. The hammock gave me the freedom to move in ways that felt good. Poses and moves that can be hard on the grounded body became more enjoyable while floating. The Aerial Hammock gives us the ability to find traction in our spines in ways we don’t normally have the opportunity to do so. It also provides a restorative and relaxing space to look inward. Aerial Yoga showed me what my body was capable of doing.

I completed my Aerial Yoga teacher training with the Founder of Simply Yoga and Aer-FLOW Jessie Coakley in 2019 and completed my 200-YTT with Parallel 45 Yoga in the spring of 2021. As an instructor, I teach a variety of Yoga classes from mindful vinyasa, Aerial Yoga and floating restorative classes.

I met Christina (owner of Scoliosis Wellness) while teaching Yoga back in 2019 and we immediately connected. Her passion to help people has inspired me to do more with my knowledge of yoga. I can’t wait to share my practice with you! See you on the mat and/or in the air.

Jenni Thomas

  • Jenni is a Nutritional Therapeutic Practitioner who is passionate about helping individuals live life to their fullest. It was her dream at a young age to find a path where she could touch the lives of those who felt burdened, either emotionally or physically. Her passion increased dramatically in 2013 when her first unborn child was diagnosed with an untreatable abdominal defect. Shortly after in 2017 with 2 little kids, she was diagnosed with metastatic thyroid cancer. During that time which she found to be the most challenging but rewarding part of her life she discovered the power of holistic nutritional therapy. She uses her past as a tool to meet individuals where they are at, and walks alongside them to help achieve their health goals to give them the freedom they seek. Jenni believes in taking a bio individual holistic approach that considers all factors of persons life including diet, sleep, movement, and environment. In her free time, she enjoys being with her husband, Hayden, and her 2 children, Sterling and Ellawyn. As a family, they enjoy outdoor adventures, being with family and friends, and just chilling at home where they have quality bonding time during meals and movie nights.

Heather Jenny

  • Hello! My name is Heather Jenny and I have been curious about the body and health my entire career. I graduated with a BS in physical therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1990 and completed my Masters in Gerontology from Wichita State University in 1995. In my career, I specialized and received board certification in both women’s and geriatric physical therapy.

I enjoy and have treated all types of neuromuscular problems throughout my career but have a unique passion for how the mind and body interact for movement and breathing.

My brother was diagnosed with scoliosis and had spinal fusion as a 17-year-old and my entire family has a bit of a twist. This personal history with scoliosis and asymmetrical patterns in the body has led me to seek specialized training in their treatment.

In 2013, I earned the designation of Postural Restoration CertifiedTM(PRC) as a result of advanced training, extraordinary interest and devotion to the science of postural adaptations, asymmetrical patterns, and the influence of polyarticular chains of muscles on the human body as defined by the Postural Restoration Institute®. This type of treatment can involve collaboration with specialized dentists, optometrists, and orthotists to assist the body in healing.

I have been a practitioner of yoga for years and the mind body connection helped me heal myself inside and out. I became a 200hr yoga teacher in the spring of 2021 at Parallel 45. Since then, I have focused further trainings on breathing, trauma informed yoga, yoga for pain diagnosis’ and in 2023, completed certification in Somatic Healing. I believe these mind body connections are corner stones to compliment my physical therapy treatments.

I meet Christina at Parallel 45 and could immediately see her passion for others with scoliosis and how to help twisty people feel better in their bodies. I wanted to become a part of her team and support her vision to do just that!
